Today was a serious touring day.  We started out right after breakfast and headed to Vatican City.

The size of St. Peter's Square is hard to grasp in pictures and the Basilica of St. Peter is considered by all Christians as a treasure. 

The art and sculptures housed there as well as the colorful Swiss Guards in their outfits designed by Michaelangelo are unforgettable. 

After lunch we took a short drive to see the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls

Since Italians eat late (later than we normally do) we had lots of choices for dinner on our own.
